Oracle R12 Upgrade | Change Descriptive Flexfield

By Jag - August 02, 2012

After upgrading to R12, you will notice the descriptive flexfileds (DFF) on some of the new web pages are not visible.

In my last R12 upgrade, I came across the new buyer web page in Purchasing and noticed the required DFF defined in 11i was not visible or active.  Since the new web pages use the OA framework, you will need knowledge of web page personalizations to solve this problem.   After searching Oracle support, I came across the solution to fix web page DFF’s.  The following steps will allow you to display the DFF on the buyer web page:

1.       In the System Administrator responsibility, change the value of the “Personalize Self-Service Defn” profile option to “Yes” for your Purchasing Super User responsibility

2.       In your Purchasing Super User responsibility, open the Buyer web page

3.       Click on the “Personalize Buyer Table” link

4.       Scroll down and then click on the Update Icon for the “Column: (Buyers DFF Column)”

5.       Change the “Rendered” value to true at the Site level

6.       Click the Apply button

7.       Log-off Oracle and then log back in.

8.       View the Buyer web page
